A Hermite collocation method for the approximate solutions of high‐order linear Fredholm integro‐differential equations

In this study, a Hermite matrix method is presented to solve high‐order linear Fredholm integro‐differential equations with variable coefficients under the mixed conditions in terms of the Hermite polynomials. The proposed method converts the equation and its conditions to matrix equations, which correspond to a system of linear algebraic equations with unknown Hermite coefficients, by means of collocation points on a finite interval. Then, by solving the matrix equation, the Hermite coefficients and the polynomial approach are obtained. Also, examples that illustrate the pertinent features of the method are presented; the accuracy of the solutions and the error analysis are performed. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 为了对Fourier级数进行近似计算和有效应用,必须研究其收敛性,这个课题有长久的历史,形成了数学分析中吸引包括许多著名数学家在内的学者研究的一条热烈但困难的主流.其中,在三角级数(Fourier级数)一致收敛性和平均收敛性问题中人们一直关心Fourier系数的单调递减条件最终的推广.这个开始于英国Chaundy-Jollife(1916年)和Young(1913年)的工作最近出现了突破性的进展,产生了许多完善的结果.本文将对这方面的历史、发展给出综述,并重点介绍最近的应用成果,并对以后的工作给出研究思路和线索.     

Analytical analysis for large-amplitude oscillation of a rotational pendulum system

This paper deals with large amplitude oscillation of a nonlinear pendulum attached to a rotating structure. By coupling of the well-known Maclaurin series expansion and orthogonal Chebyshev polynomials, the governing differential equation with sinusoidal nonlinearity can be reduced to form a cubic-quintic Duffing equation. The resulting Duffing type temporal problem is solved by an analytic iteration approach. Two approximate formulas for the frequency (period) and the periodic solution are established for small as well as large amplitudes of motion. Illustrative examples are selected and compared to those analytical and exact solutions to substantiate the accuracy and correctness of the approximate analytical approach.     

Numerical solution of multiple nonlinear Volterra integral equations

We analyze a discretization method for solving nonlinear integral equations that contain multiple integrals. These equations include integral equations with a Volterra series, instead of a single integral term, on one side of the equation. We prove existence and uniqueness of solutions, and convergence and estimates of the order of convergence for the numerical methods of solution.     

On the degree of approximation of functions belonging to a Lipschitz class by Hausdorff means of its fourier series

In a recent paper Lal and Yadov [4] obtained a theorem on the degree of approximation for a function belonging to the Lipschitz class Lipα using the product of the Cesàro and Euler means of order one of its Fourier series. In this paper we extend this result to any regular Hausdorff matrix for the same class of functions.     

Approximate analytical solutions of a class of boundary layer equations over nonlinear stretching surface

Third order nonlinear ordinary differential equations, subject to appropriate boundary conditions arising in fluid dynamics, are solved using three different methods viz., the Dirichlet series, method of stretching of variables, and asymptotic function method. Similarity transformations are used to convert the governing partial differential equations into nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The numerical results obtained from the above methods for various problems are given in terms of skin friction. Our study revealed that the results obtained from these methods agree well with those of direct numerical simulation of ordinary differential equations. Also, these methods have advantages over pure numerical methods in obtaining derived quantities such as velocity profile accurately for various values of the parameters at a stretch.     

Dirichlet级数和随机Dirichlet级数的下级增长性

本文研究了全平面上零级和有限级Dirichlet级数及随机Dirichlet级数的下级增长性.利用型函数,得到了其系数和增长性之间的关系,以及当随机变量序列{X_n(ω)}满足一定条件时,零级和有限级随机Dirichlet级数在全平面上所确定的随机整函数在每条水平直线上的下级增长性几乎必然与相应的随机Dirichlet级数的下级增长性相同.     

Theory of fractional order in generalized thermoelectric MHD

A new mathematical model of thermoelectric MHD theory has been constructed in the context of a new consideration of heat conduction with fractional orders. This model is applied to Stokes’ first problem for a conducting fluid with heat sources. Laplace transforms and state-space techniques [1] will be used to obtain the general solution for any set of boundary conditions. According to the numerical results and its graphs, conclusion about the new theory has been constructed. Some comparisons have been shown in figures to estimate the effects of the fractional order parameters on all the studied fields.     

高频金融时间序列的模型化研究进展回顾

从高频和超高频金融数据的基本统计特征出发,回顾了(超)高频金融时间序列模型化研究的发展历程及相关特征,并详细介绍了高频数据模型研究中针对久期序列建立ACD模型族的研究与进展.对ACD模型族,介绍了两种主要类型:强ACD模型和弱ACD模型.最后展望了高频金融时间序列中ACD模型的研究.

讨论正项级数的根值判别法．若将判别极限lim↓n→∞ n√an更改为lim↓n→∞或lim↓n→∞^n√am^n＋i,则相应结果在一定条件下将比原判别方法更为精细,且应用范围也有所推广．
